Safety above all else is a core value in Houston ISD, and Lockhart Elementary is committed to ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all families and visitors. Please follow all "No Parking" signs and school parking guidelines at all times.

✅ Where to Park:

  • Visitors should park only in designated VISITOR parking spaces located at the front of the school.

  • Additional parking is available along Rosedale and Sauer streets near the campus.

  • Please do not park in areas painted red, which are marked No Parking/Fire Zones — these must remain clear at all times for emergency access.

❌ Where NOT to Park:

  • Do not leave vehicles unattended in red fire lanes or any unauthorized zones.

  • Do not park in the bus loading zone or the circle drive in front of the school, as these are reserved for school buses and emergency vehicles only.

  • The faculty/staff parking lot is reserved for Lockhart employees only and should not be used by visitors, unless attending a school-sponsored event and permitted by the office.

🚘 Arrival & Dismissal Guidelines:

  • Cars may line up in the rear drop-off/pick-up area (by the covered pavilion/cafeteria entrance) during arrival and dismissal.

  • Drivers must remain in their vehicles during car line. Please keep the line moving and follow staff instructions.

Additional Notes:

  • Be mindful of our neighbors. Do not block driveways or mailboxes on nearby residential streets.

  • Handicap-accessible parking is available at the front of the school; a valid placard or license plate is required.

  • Please avoid using cell phones while in the car line to maintain attention and safety for all students.
