Lockhart Elementary thrives because of the continued support and involvement of our amazing families and community members. There are many ways you can support our school — through your time, talents, and even financial contributions. Every bit of support makes a difference!

👥 Parent Organizations

Shared Decision-Making Committee (SDMC)
The SDMC includes parents, teachers, and community members who work together to plan and make decisions for the school. Meeting minutes are posted on our school website and at the Parent Center on campus. Your voice matters!

Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
The PTO invites all families to become active members. Our annual membership drive begins in September. By participating in PTO activities and fundraisers, parents help provide additional classroom materials and enrich learning opportunities. PTO meetings and events are listed on our school calendar and promoted via flyers and digital announcements.

Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS)
Our VIPS volunteers play a vital role in supporting our students and staff. Volunteers assist in areas such as the library, tutoring, campus events, cafeteria duty, and more. To get started, complete the VIPS registration online and submit to a background check. (Visit houstonisd.org/VIPS to register.)

💰 Make a Contribution

Lockhart Elementary gratefully accepts monetary donations to help fund student programs, classroom/student resources, field trips, technology, and campus beautification efforts. Here’s how to contribute:

  • Online Donations: Visit www.houstonisd.org/Page/173028 and select Lockhart Elementary from the campus list.

  • In-Person Donations: Bring cash or checks (made payable to Lockhart Elementary PTO) to the Main Office during business hours (7:30 AM–4:30 PM).

  • Sponsor or Partner with Us: Local businesses and community organizations are welcome to partner with Lockhart to support student learning and enrichment.
